Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) often referred to by her real surname Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she was first recognized. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the web including her self launched single Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes, at Sweat It out on July 21, 2015. In the following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville team because J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some of the references for Rihanna. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track which she co-wrote together with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer in support of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The following year, she went on to appear on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream From the album came out October 5, 2018, with a music video. She dropped her follow-up single, Grampa on November 9. Then on November 13 two brand new singles, titled No One and pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track called Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album the same name. It was released with the release of a music video in February 20, 2019, and reached 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
